Pre-Retirement Work:
Six years in hospital dietetics, 29 years teaching home economics, mostly in Alberta.
Memories of School Days in Nelson:
My fondest memory is of all the students in Central School singing WWII hymns and Christmas carols on the entrance stairs. It was a heartwarming experience. If you had a childhood in Nelson you were blessed. You lived in a beautiful, safe town with four seasons, very good people, schools, teachers, churches, sports and activities. Our family moved to Calgary in 1948 so I only had one year of junior high in Nelson. Some had bad memories of the Home Economics class; but mine were all good. I went on to be a Home Economics teacher.
