Barbara (TILSTON) Spray

Family:

I married Ezra Spray in 1956. We were transferred to Toronto in 1959 by his employer Traders Group, where we lived until 1995 when we retired and moved to Whitby , a smaller town east of Toronto. We have three children : Judi, a nurse at the Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto, married with two sons; Jim, a Chartered Accountant, married with a son and daughter and Joanne, an accountant, married with two daughters. All of them live close by.

Work:

After graduation I worked at the Royal Bank in Nelson until moving to Toronto.

In Toronto I worked part time for Canada Permanent Trust and then Canada Trust until the children were in high school at which time I then went fulltime.  I retired in 1995 and then went back part time for another small Trust Company for about two years.

Present Activities:

When we moved to Whitby we purchased a new home so we have been busy decorating and creating gardens. We have a large house trailer in a park which is north east of  Whitby on a large lake. We spend some of our time there but our main interest is traveling. We have traveled throughout most of Europe- both East and West, Greece, Egypt, Turkey, Israel and Spain and have been to Portugal several times. Our most frequent trips are to England where I was born. We spend time with relatives and friends there. Ezra likes to golf and I have plans to try it also. We also like to walk as much as possible.

Memories:

I remember the Junior Joymakers and the fun we had in the Badminton Club and going out of town for tournaments, taking swimming lessons at Lakeside Park in the freezing cold water, sleigh riding down Gyro Park Hill in the winter past Ronmark’s store and the heaps of snow we got then.
