Norman HUGHES

Norman Geoffrey Hughes (Norm)

With broken hearts we announce Norm's passing. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years Florence (2019), and his brother Leslie (2021).
Norm is survived by his son Gordon and daughter Michelle (Chris), grandchildren Dylan, Madeleine, Darius and Carla, brother in laws Gene and Don Nutter (Lynn), and longtime family friend Glinda Clay.
Norm was born in Trail B.C. and spent his youth in Nelson B.C. where he took up badminton, a game he enjoyed tremendously throughout his lifetime. Norm served as a volunteer Firefighter in Nelson, a job that he has many fond memories of. Norm and Flo were married in 1958 and subsequently moved to Vancouver as newlyweds.
A talented athlete, he also loved tennis, skiing, golf and cycling. Both Norm and Flo valued their membership to the Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club where they participated in all that the Club had to offer. They made many special and lasting friends there.
Norm had a career in the office products business which allowed him to travel to Asia on many occasions. Norm and Flo also enjoyed world travel with family and friends. Maui held a special place in their hearts. Norm's home was his castle and he and Flo loved their garden.
An avid volunteer and consummate gentleman, Norm will be greatly missed by family and many friends.
